This second release of the application significantly expands its database by including a broader range of Navajo and English vocabulary, along with new images and audio files.

“Speak Navajo” serves as a comprehensive word dictionary for the Navajo language, designed for iPhone and iPad users. The application allows for efficient translation between Navajo and English by enabling users to search for Navajo words using their English counterparts. As an enrolled member of the Navajo Tribe, I aim to share authentic vocabulary that reflects the linguistic heritage I have experienced growing up on the Navajo reservation. The words included in this application are widely used within the Navajo community.

The data features include:

The application offers the following searching capabilities:

• Search by English word
• Search by group name

For enhanced usability, “Speak Navajo” incorporates both image and audio files. The visual elements provide context by linking to the corresponding Navajo words, while audio files offer users the opportunity to hear pronunciations, aiding in their learning experience.
